Our school has established a School Culture and Student Support Committee aimed at fostering a positive school culture and nurturing students' group development. This helps students learn to love themselves and others in communal living, build good interpersonal relationships, and deepen their self-awareness. These efforts aim to develop students into healthy young individuals who also take on responsibilities towards their community, country, and the world.
The committee also plans and implements initiatives to promote the school’s image, facilitate school development, and improve the school environment. This helps students, parents, and alumni understand the school’s goals and development direction, while also informing the external community—especially local primary and secondary school teachers and parents—about the school’s unique characteristics and development trajectory. The key focus areas are as follows:
- Creating a Campus Atmosphere: Foster an environment filled with Christian spirit, spirituality, and care to enhance students' religious and spiritual qualities.
- Leading Classmaster and Grade Meetings: Organize and improve class management systems and measures through leadership of meetings.
- Establishing School Rules and Reward/Punishment Systems: Develop, implement, and refine school regulations and disciplinary systems to maintain order and cultivate good character and self-discipline among students.
- Coordinating Student Potential Development: Promote and enhance systems for student leadership training and service learning.
- Implementing Healthy Campus Policies: Develop and promote health education policies and curricula, including student growth programs such as religious and spiritual education, health education, sex education, moral education, and civic education.
- Coordinating Career Planning Education: Develop and enhance career planning curricula and activities.
- Establishing Student Service Teams: Organize student service teams to promote peer culture and a spirit of service.
- Following Up on Student Growth Cases: Provide case follow-up and group counseling for student growth.
- Improving the School Environment: Address various issues related to student school life to enhance the sense of belonging among teachers and students.
- Coordinating Parent Education Activities: Strengthen the connection between parents and the school by organizing educational activities and supporting parent-teacher associations to build mutual trust and cooperation.
- Developing Alumni Connection Strategies: Formulate strategies and activities to support alumni associations and encourage alumni to reconnect with and support the school’s educational efforts.
- Establishing Community Connection Strategies: Promote awareness of the school's educational spirit and achievements within the community, encouraging support for the school's educational work.
Students encounter various issues and challenges at different stages of their middle school growth process. The school has established multiple student growth groups (including Religious and Spiritual Education, Activities and Potential Development, Career Planning, Discipline and Character Development, and Counseling and Home-School Cooperation) along with grade and classmaster meetings. These aim to provide various activities and platforms to help students establish direction and goals, develop correct values, and ultimately become responsible citizens who care for themselves and others.
When addressing student issues—whether related to personal growth, academics, or family—it is essential to adopt a proactive attitude. Traditional methods of punishment for misbehaving students may not be effective; appropriate counseling can better guide students toward positive change.
In the holistic care education implemented by the school, the active participation of all teachers is crucial. The focus for teachers in handling student issues is on "reasonable discipline." In addition to disciplining students for violations, teachers must advise them on their misbehavior, understand the reasons behind their mistakes, and suggest improvement methods. The goal is to foster internal changes in students' behavior and cultivate a correct attitude toward handling situations.
